Join us Wednesday, August 3 from 7-8pm for a Cycling With Kids Workshop! Whether you’re interested in riding with kids on your bike (in a trailer, bike seat, or tag-along) on going for a family ride with your kids riding their own bikes, this workshop is for you!
Our experienced family cycling instructors will cover topics including traffic skills, gear and equipment, route planning, resources, and group riding tips/tips for carrying kids on your bike.
The workshop will include a presentation by instructors and plenty of opportunity for Q&A and group discussions. Register at the link below to receive the link to the online workshop.
Drop in between 1 and 3pm at George Jay Elementary School for the Bike Petting Zoo: a free outdoor event with a chance to check out (“pet”) some family bike set-ups and equipment, and talk to the parents that use them. Your kids can play nearby while enjoying a complimentary cold treat.
Just drop in! Open to everyone. If you’re interested in volunteering at the Petting Zoo by displaying your family bike setup/equipment, contact us via the button below.
We are running two Guided Family Bike Rides in partnership with the City of Victoria. Check out the details on these family friendly bike rides, which take place on Victoria’s All Ages and Abilities bike routes, below.
Through a series of free workshops and skills courses, parents will gain the knowledge and skills to safely incorporate cycling into their family life whether riding for fun, to school, daycare, wherever! Modules include informational workshops with props, cycling skills courses for different ages (adults, kids, and youth) and a guided family ride.
For parents and their children looking to incorporate cycling into their lives.
There are two great ways to participate in All Aboard!
Chocked full of great tips and resources, these info-sheets are complied from local knowledge and expertise from our All Aboard Family Cycling Group. Easy-to-read and super shareable, these are free resources that would be great for any parent group, community organization, library, support group, and more!
Focusing on three topics, Cycling While Pregnant, Cycling With Kids (On Your Bike) and Cycling With Kids (On Their Bikes), the All-Aboard Program invites those curious about family cycling to watch a short video made by local family cyclists with Quadratic Sound about their experiences riding with their kids; Facebook Live Q&A sessions, and download a one-page “Cheat Sheet” with tips and recommended routes!
