Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers drive everything we do at Capital Bike and we could not have made an impact without them. We have many volunteer opportunities throughout the year that we advertise through our newsletters, but you can also visit our dashboard using the link below to see a list of events that you can help with.
We also need ongoing help at our office so if you'd like to help support planning and program delivery from behind the scenes, let us know. If you have not volunteered before we invite you to fill in this survey to tell us what you'd like to do.
- Advocacy support can include writing letters, attending events, public speaking -- you can join a local committee or look for opportunities
- Bike Locker Valet Attendant may be scheduled to help set up, in addition to hanging bikes, giving out tags, returning bikes, and enjoying the fresh air and event!
- Bike Fleet support helps us keep our Bike Trailer and Lending Library in order, clean and ready to go
- Bike Marshals help us offer safe community rides and support events like the Victoria Pride Parade and the Capital Bike Tour de Victoria Kid's Ride
- Bike Mechanics support the repair of bikes from our Lending Library, Ride It Forward and our Everyone Rides program
- Bike Obstacle Course volunteers help set up the obstacles (includes lifting and placing them, drawing chalk lines, setting out cones), and then walking besides kids as they navigate the obstacles
- Event Set-up includes un-loading the van, setting up tents, tables, supplies, bike racks and flags -- and then doing it all in reverse!
- Event Support includes helping during Go By Bike Week or other events and you'll do a variety of things including stamping passports, distributing food and drinks, selling merchandise, and supporting our community!
- Office Support helps us with a variety of tasks like counting out certificates for kids, picking up prizes, distributing posters, etc.
