On Thursday, February 1st, Victoria City Council is considering a motion to:

  • Complete the Shelbourne cycling network connection between Haultain and Hillside, prioritizing sustainable travel modes over motor vehicle parking, using quick-build methods prior to Summer 2025.
  • Add the Shelbourne/Begbie Corridor to the priority AAA bicycle network and upgrade as soon as possible in coordination with necessary road and underground asset renewal.

Email your support to Victoria’s Mayor and Council: mayorandcouncil@victoria.ca.

With both connections approved, people biking and rolling would eventually see a protected route stretching from Pandora Avenue and Begbie all the way to PKOLS (Mount Douglas Park).

Help make this happen!

Email Victoria’s Mayor and Council today and let them know why this is important for you and our community. For example: these connected AAA bike lanes will help reach our climate goals, support a shift to active transportation, make cycling safer and more accessible, promote cleaner air by reducing car traffic, create pleasant streetscapes, and connect communities.
