The third Discovery Ride series is posted and ready for your weekend adventure!
View Royal/Esquimalt Discovery Ride: Take a ride along the E&N Rail Trail and Galloping Goose Regional Trail, and explore the public artworks, histories and heritage buildings in these old eclectic neighbourhoods of View Royal and Esquimalt.
Oak Bay Discovery Ride:
Take a ride along Beach Drive and explore the many hidden gems of this ocean-side neighbourhood. Explore the rocky hilltops of Gonzales Hill, Anderson Hill and the parks that connect them on this Oak Bay Scavenger Hunt ride.

To WIN prizes for participating in these two neighbourhood discovery rides. Send us your photos, stories and videos telling us about your ride between June 6th – 19th, 2020 in the form at the bottom of this page. Prize submissions will be due June 19th. However, these activities aren’t going anywhere – so enjoy them anytime this summer!

Step 1:
Explore the clues. Download the PDF document with ‘points of interest’ on your phone.
Step 2:
Get the route. Open the route in Google Maps on your phone to view the pins with suggested ‘points of interest’ locations.
Step 3:
Ride the route! Explore the clues outlined in the ride’s PDF document within the neighbourhood. Use the pinned clues on the Google Map as your guide.
Step 4:
Take a photo, story or video at a ‘point of interest’ on your ride and tag us on Facebook or Instagram @biketoworkvic, on Twitter @gvcc or just tag #yyjbike! In this photo, story, or video, tell us about your experience, or something you discovered, on your Scavenger Hunt.
Step 5:
Come back to this page and tell us about your ride! Complete the ride experience form at the bottom of this page to rate the ride and tell us what you enjoyed about it!
With every submission, you will be entered into a draw for a chance to win a gift card for take-out food from a local restaurant or bike shop near you.

Looking for other rides?
The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition and Bike to Work Society is offering a series of Scavenger Hunts, Discovery Rides, and Ride the Distance rides for neighbourhoods across the Greater Victoria region. These activity series will be happening from May to August 2020. Every two weeks, two new Discovery Rides will be released for two new neighbourhoods.
