Attention all bike enthusiasts and writers! We are currently seeking contributors for the next issue of CycleTherapy. If you have a passion for cycling and a talent for the written word, we want to hear from you!
DEADLINE: May 7th, 2023
We are looking for articles and features on various topics that fit the issue’s theme, “Has Greater Victoria become a cycling utopia?”.
Topics could include but are not limited to:
- Accessibility in cycling (this could be from a cultural perspective, ie, families cycling, vulnerable people riding, or from an infrastructure perspective)
- The cargo bike/e-bike culture shift (ie new shops that cater specifically to these groups and how they’re surviving/thriving)
- how Victoria compares to other Canadian cities/regions
- Where it all started: the history of cycling in Victoria/Galloping Goose
- First-person account/anecdotal story: how riding changed your life
- Programs/services that support cycling around the region (GBBW, lockers, sticker challenge, Downtown bike valet)
- Call-to-action: what still needs to happen – critical issues, critical barriers, Land-use and development
Whether you’re an experienced rider or just starting out, we want your unique perspective and insights!
We’re also looking for:
- Great Photos
- Art
- Puzzles
- Poetry
- And other creative endeavours!
If you’re interested in contributing to CycleTherapy, please email Nicole (nicole.wannamaker@capitalbike.ca) to discuss your ~500-word article.
DEADLINE: May 7th, 2023
While we may not be able to use every article submitted, we will do our best to include all relevant articles to the theme.
We can’t wait to hear from you and share your love of cycling with our readers!
